Fishstrap v3.1.1

Fishstrap is a free, open-source Roblox bootstrapper forked from Bloxstrap. It replaces Roblox's own launcher with one that supports custom themes, FastFlag configuration, a near-borderless fullscreen mode, and faster multi-threaded downloads. It does not inject scripts and has no UNC/sUNC score — it's a different category of tool from the executors on this site.

What Fishstrap is and who it's for

A bootstrapper is the small program that runs before Roblox itself — it checks for updates, downloads the actual game client, and launches it. Roblox ships its own bootstrapper by default, but it's minimal. Bloxstrap is a popular open-source replacement that adds quality-of-life features on top of that basic process, and Fishstrap is a fork of Bloxstrap — meaning it started from Bloxstrap's codebase and layered its own theming and feature set on top, rather than being built from scratch.

This is a meaningfully different category of tool from every executor listed elsewhere on this site. Executors inject a Lua interpreter into a running Roblox process to run arbitrary scripts, which is why they carry account-ban risk and get measured on UNC/sUNC compatibility scores. Fishstrap doesn't do either of those things — it only changes how Roblox is launched and themed, and exposes Roblox's own official FastFlag configuration system (normally reserved for Roblox developers) through a friendlier interface.

What "low risk" actually means here

The general consensus around Bloxstrap-family bootstrappers is that using one carries very little ban risk, since the changes are client-side only (custom sprites, cursor themes, FastFlags) and can't affect other players. That's a real, meaningful difference from executors. It is not the same as zero risk, though: FastFlags exist for Roblox's own developers, misusing them can cause game instability even though it won't get you banned by itself, and there has been at least one thread on the Roblox Developer Forum questioning whether Bloxstrap/Fishstrap-style tools remain permitted going forward — worth keeping an eye on if Roblox's stance shifts.

// features

Core features

Custom bootstrapper themes

Including a Windows Terminal-inspired theme that prints boot lines like a real terminal, plus other visual presets.

Window customization

Set a custom window icon and title for the Roblox client itself, not just the launcher.

Near-borderless fullscreen

A fake borderless fullscreen mode on the Vulkan graphics API, built to feel as close to true borderless as Roblox allows.

NVIDIA Ansel support

Enhanced in-game photography mode for high-quality screenshots on supported NVIDIA hardware.

FastFlag profiles

Full control over Roblox's internal FastFlags with the ability to save and switch between custom configuration profiles.

Multi-threaded downloads

Roblox client updates download faster than through the stock bootstrapper.

How to install Fishstrap

Download the installer

Use the link in the download panel below.

Run the installer

Fishstrap installs itself as a replacement launcher — it doesn't require Roblox to already be open.

Launch Roblox through Fishstrap

Use the Fishstrap shortcut going forward instead of the standard Roblox launcher.

Configure theme & FastFlags (optional)

Open Fishstrap's settings to pick a theme or adjust FastFlags — leave FastFlags alone if you're not sure what a flag does.

Safety notes

Fishstrap is not affiliated with Roblox Corporation and is, like every tool on this site, unofficial third-party software — but it is a fundamentally different risk category from the script executors listed elsewhere here. It doesn't inject code or automate gameplay, so the account-ban risk profile is much lower. Only download from the link below or Fishstrap's own official channels, and avoid enabling FastFlags you don't understand.

Different tool, different risk. Fishstrap is a launcher/bootstrapper, not a script executor — don't expect it to run Lua scripts or exploit hubs.

Requirements

Windows 10 or 11. A working Roblox installation (Fishstrap manages launching it). NVIDIA Ansel features require supported NVIDIA hardware and drivers.

Fishstrap FAQ

No. Fishstrap is a bootstrapper — a custom launcher for the Roblox client, forked from Bloxstrap. It does not inject or run Lua scripts and has no UNC/sUNC score. It's listed on this site as a related tool, not as one of the executors.

Bootstrappers in the Bloxstrap family are widely considered much lower-risk than script executors, since they only apply client-side changes like theming and Roblox's own FastFlag system rather than injecting arbitrary code. That said, Fishstrap is still an unofficial, third-party tool, misusing FastFlags can cause instability, and there has been at least one Roblox Developer Forum thread questioning whether Bloxstrap-family tools remain permitted — so treat it as lower-risk, not risk-free.

Bloxstrap is an open-source alternative to Roblox's official bootstrapper (the small program that downloads and launches the real Roblox client). Fishstrap is a fork of that project, meaning it started from Bloxstrap's code and added its own features and theming on top.

Custom bootstrapper themes (including a Windows Terminal-style theme), the ability to set a custom window icon/title, a fake borderless fullscreen mode on the Vulkan renderer, NVIDIA Ansel support for high-quality screenshots, full control over Roblox FastFlags with saved profiles, and multi-threaded downloads for faster updates.
